Erythrocytes (Formed elements)

Red blood cells, RBC. Carry O2 and CO2. No nucleus or organelles. Flattened structure.

Leukocytes (Formed elements)

White blood cells, WBC.

Formed element

Have membrane, cells, & platelets.

Neutrophils (Granular Leukocytes)

First to bacterial infection. Phagocytic

Lymphocytes (Agrandular Leukocytes)

Some attack foreign cells & some make antibodies for cancer cells

Platelets (Formed element)

Cell fragments that stick together/contain clotting factors. Small membrane-bound cell fragments that contain enzymes and other substances important to the process of clotting.

Have membranes Erythrocytes-RBC, Luekocytes-WBC, & Platelets.

Responsible for the cells transport of oxygen
