Pia Mater
The blue connective tissue directly clinging to the spinal cord.
Cerebrospinal Fluid
Fluid that runs through the subarachnoid space and the central canal of the spinal cord.
Anterior Gray Horn
Section of spinal cord containing unmyelinated cell bodies that control skeletal muscles.
Dorsal White Column
Part of the spinal cord that picks up proprioception and fine and discriminative touch.
Subarachnoid Space
The space where cerebrospinal fluid runs through.
Arachnoid Mater
The blue tissue that lies above the pia mater in the meningeal layers.
Subdural Space
The space found between the arachnoid mater and the dura mater.
Epidural Space
Space that contains fat and blood vessels, located outside the dura mater.
Dorsal Root Ganglion
Collection of unipolar neurons that transmit sensory information to the spinal cord.
Vertebral Arteries
Arteries that run through the transverse foramen and contribute to the circle of Willis.
Basilar Artery
Formed by the fusion of the vertebral arteries, contributing to the posterior circulation of the brain.
