Russian Revolution
A period of political and social upheaval in Russia during the early 20th century that led to the overthrow of the Czarist regime and the rise of the Soviet Union.
Schlieffen Plan
A German military strategy during World War I that aimed for a quick victory by invading France through Belgium.
Bolsheviks
A faction of the Marxist Social Democratic Party in Russia, led by Vladimir Lenin, that advocated for a socialist revolution.
Treaty of Brest-Litovsk
A peace treaty signed in March 1918 that ended Russia's involvement in World War I, resulting in significant territorial losses.
Kulaks
Wealthy peasants in Russia who were targeted for redistribution of land during the Bolshevik Revolution.
Petrograd Soviet
