Aquaculture

Bycatch
Non-target species that are caught unintentionally during fishing.
Sustainable Yield
The maximum amount of fish that can be caught without compromising future stock levels.
Trophic Cascade
An ecological phenomenon triggered by the loss of apex predators, leading to significant changes in ecosystem structure.
Marine Protected Areas (MPAs)
Regions of the ocean where human activity is restricted to protect biodiversity and ecosystems.
Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ)
A marine zone extending 200 nautical miles from a country's coastline, granting exclusive rights to the nation for marine resources.
Overfished
A status indicating that fish stocks are being harvested at a rate faster than they can replenish.
Depleted Fisheries
Fisheries in which fish populations have declined to levels that cannot support economic or sustainable harvesting.
Tragedy of the Commons
A situation where individual users act independently according to their self-interest, leading to the depletion of shared resources.

A technology used for aquaculture that filters water and allows for the reuse of water in fish farming.
