GERD
Condition managed via Lifestyle, Antacids & H2RA, and PPI for severe cases.
H. Pylori Quadruple Therapy
Treatment regimen consisting of Bismuth, PPI, Tetracycline, and metronidazole. “treat my belly pain”
H. Pylori Triple Therapy
Treatment regimen consisting of clarithro + amox and PPI.
Constipation
A bulk forming laxative (psyllium)
IBS
Condition managed with lifestyle changes, Low FODMAP diet which is removing food that causes gas and bloating
IBS-C
Condition managed with Fiber, then polyethylene glycol, then linaclotide aka linzess for severe cases.
IBS-D
Condition managed with loperamide before meals.
Diverticulitis
Condition managed with a Liquid diet, followed by Cipro + metronidazole OR augmentin.
Acute Hep B
Form of Hepatitis B managed with supportive care.
Chronic Hep B
Form of Hepatitis B managed with Tenofovir or entecavir.
Hep C
Condition treated with Sofosbuvir. Drug class is direct acting antiviral
U.C. (Ulcerative Colitis)
Condition managed with Mesalamine, followed by steroids (budesonide) and biologics end in -“mab” examples: Infliximab / Adalimumab
PID
Infection treated with Ceftriaxone + doxycycline + flagyl
Crohn's
Condition managed with Budesonide (corticosteroid)
Traveler's diarrhea
Condition treated with Cipro or azithro.
Hemorrhoids
Condition managed with sitz and top steroids, increase fiber
C. diff
Vancomycin, or Fidoxamicin alternative is a stool transplant.
