Equal Rights Amendments

One example of times where Article V did not suffice for the changes in the human mind is during the Equal Rights Amendments. The reason they have not been passed was because it did not meet the required amount of states ratifying them by the 7 year deadline.

Australia Article V Alternative

One proposal that I agree with is Australia’s. Their process consists of a proposed amendment being passed by an absolute majority of Congress and then it is voted on by a public vote referendum. To get passed it must get a majority of votes from the population and at least two thirds of their states.
