Occupational performance
The doing of activities or tasks meaningful to an individual through interactions between the person and the environment.
Occupational justice
The right of every person to have equal opportunities and life chances to meet basic needs and to reach toward their potential, specifically relating to the individual’s engagement in meaningful occupation.
Person Factors
Characteristics that include psychological, cognition, sensory, motor, physiological, and spiritual attributes that support or limit occupational performance.
Environment Factors
Factors that include culture, social, physical, and natural environments, as well as policy and technology characteristics that support or limit occupational performance.
Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
Legal protections for individuals who lack the capacity to make decisions about their care, which can restrict their autonomy.
Occupational disruption
A significant change that impedes an individual's ability to participate in meaningful activities, affecting identity and functioning.
Mitigating Circumstances
Conditions or factors that may hinder a student's ability to perform optimally or meet assessment demands.
Reablement support
Services designed to help individuals maintain or regain their independence and the skills necessary for daily living through training and support.

An approach that considers the complex interactions between personal factors, environmental contexts, systemic policies, and therapeutic interventions.
