Blood Brain Barrier
The method in which chemicals are blocked from entering the blood vessels that are going to the brain
Endothelial
Cells that formed walls around capillaries of the brain and keep both harmful and helpful chemicals out of the bloodstream
Central Nervous System
A system which the brain and the spinal cord communicates with the rest of the body through sensory and motor neurons.
Peripheral Nervous System
The system can be separated into two other systems, the Somatic and the Autonomic nervous systems.
Somatic Nervous System
Controls voluntary muscles and brings sensory information to the CNS
Autonomic Nervous System
Controls involuntary muscles and manages responses to stress and relaxation through the sympathetic and parasympathetic system
Sympathetic system
Control the fight or flight responses
Parasympathetic System
Controls the rest and digest systems.
