Life Cycle
The series of stages an organism goes through from birth to adulthood.
Metamorphosis
A biological process in which an organism undergoes significant physical changes during its development.
Stage
A specific point or period in the life cycle of an organism.
Spawn
To release or deposit eggs, especially in aquatic organisms such as frogs.
Pupa
The life stage of some insects that occurs between larva and adult; during this stage, the organism undergoes transformation.
Nymph
An immature form of a certain insects that resembles the adult but is smaller and not yet capable of reproduction.
Germination
The process by which a seed develops into a new plant.
Spores
Reproductive units produced by some plants, fungi, and bacteria that can develop into a new organism.
Caterpillar
The larval stage of butterflies and moths, which feeds and grows before metamorphosing.
Texas Bluebonnet
The state flower of Texas, which blooms blue flowers in spring and forms seeds for future plants.
Molting
The process by which an insect sheds its exoskeleton to grow.
Diagram
A simplified drawing showing the appearance, structure, or workings of something.
Emerge
To come out into view or to become known.
Fertilization
The fusion of male and female gametes to form a zygote, initiating the development of a new organism.
