The hours were very long and hard work but they got paid well. Sometimes On the farm they had no work but in they had lots of things to do in their new jobs

They used to train to be apprentices, and their parents paid to train them with a master (7 years)

They left agricultural jobs to build canals, roads, factories, and warehouses. They worked in gangs and had a master. They built hundreds of miles of railways. It can be dangerous but there is more freedom.
Industrial revolution women work in textiles.
They like to employ women because they could pay them less. After had children they rarely continued working in textiles. Women worked long hours (6-7). Lots of women had to learn to lip read because the noise was defaning. Cotton dust caused many lung diseases.

Other women continued to work in their old jobs that they had always done, such as spinning yarn, domestic service, and baking and selling goods. But they got paid low wages
Industrial revolution children work on a farm
They started work at 10 but only in summer and spring. Full time at 12. Part time hours on farms but hours were much less in winter. Farm work was quite lonely but was relativiely light work.
Industrial revolution children in mine and factories
Started at age 6, and went from 5-6/7. Factory work can be dangerous and some children lost limbs and suffered from dust and noise. They would get beaten if they weren’t working hard enough. Mines were also dangerous, children would be left in the pitch dark for hours and pushed heavy things.
