What is DNA?
It is Deoxyribonucleic acid that carries hereditary information, giving an individual their characteristics. DNA> RNA > Protein
What is Chromatin network?
DNA inside the nucleus that is not organised in the nucleus but still wrapped around histones
What is chromosome?
DNA inside the nucleus that is organised but still wrapped around histones
What is a gene?
It is a part of the DNA that codes for a specific protein
What is a locus?
It is a part of the DNA where a gene can be found.
Where is the DNA found inside an organism?
It is found in the nucleus of the cells
Where do your genes come from?
They come from the DNA you receive from your parents
What else can determine the characteristic of a person, besides your genes?
Your environment.
What is the function of DNA?
It codes for proteins that gives you your characteristics and it carries hereditary information.
What are the characteristics of DNA?
It is a double helix.
It is made up of small units called nucleotides.
It contains bases represented by the letters CGTA.
