Acepromazine
A phenothiazine tranquilizer that provides sedation ONLY, contains NO analgesia, and causes hypotension.
Atipamezole
The reversal agent used for Alpha2 agonists such as dexmedetomidine and xylazine.
Naloxone
The agent used to reverse opioids.
Butorphanol
An opioid that serves as an excellent antitussive.
Sevoflurane
An inhalant anesthetic that provides faster induction and recovery compared to isoflurane.
Propofol
An IV induction anesthetic with rapid induction and recovery that may cause apnea and hypotension.
Neuromuscular Blockers
Agents that cause paralysis ONLY, with no sedation, analgesia, or unconsciousness, and require the patient to be ventilated.
Pentobarbital
A drug commonly used for euthanasia that causes CNS, respiratory, and cardiac arrest.
Neuroleptanalgesia
A combination of an opioid and a tranquilizer that results in better restraint and smoother induction.
Doxapram
A respiratory stimulant where overdose may cause tremors and seizures.
