What is plasma?
Plasma is the liquid part of blood made mostly of water, proteins, nutrients, hormones, wastes, and electrolytes.
what are the functions of blood?
Transports oxygen, nutrients, hormones, and wastes; Regulates body temperature, pH, and fluid balance; Protects the body through clotting and immune defense
What is the function of red blood cells (erythrocytes)?
Carry oxygen using hemoglobin and transport some carbon dioxide
What is the function of white blood cells (leukocytes)?
Defend the body against infection and disease
What is the function of platelets (thrombocytes)?
Help blood clot to prevent blood loss
What is the buffy coat?
A thin layer in centrifuged blood containing white blood cells and platelets between plasma and red blood cells

The clumping of red blood cells caused by incompatible blood types.
