Real-time scanning
A feature in antivirus software that constantly monitors the computer for threats as files, programs, and processes are used.
Firewall
A security system that protects a network by controlling incoming and outgoing network traffic based on predetermined security rules.
Malware
Malicious software designed to harm or exploit computer systems, including viruses, worms, and trojans.
Vigilance
The action or state of keeping careful watch for possible danger or difficulties, especially in relation to network security.
Intrusion Detection
The process of monitoring and analyzing network traffic for signs of unauthorized access or malicious activity.
Worm
A type of malware that replicates itself in order to spread to other computers, often exploiting vulnerabilities in the network.
Scheduling scans
The process of planning automated scans of a computer system for threats at specific times.
Exceptions or rules
Settings in antivirus software that allow certain files or processes to bypass usual scanning procedures.
Performance issues
Problems that affect the efficiency of a computer system, often caused by resource-intensive processes like real-time scanning.
