Heterotrophs (Heterótrofos)
Organisms that cannot produce their own food and must feed on other organisms to obtain sustenance.
Protection (Protección)
A set of measures designed to avoid alterations, theft, and loss, while protecting important data and maintaining confidentiality.
Location and Use (Locación y uso)
The ability to quickly find and reach a document for a required activity to save time and help in decision-making.
Transfer (Transferencia)
Moving documents to another file or location to free up space, maintain historical value, and document the chain of custody.
Creation or Receipt (Creación o recibo)
The phase where a document is first made or obtained, serving to identify the author and date and organize information.
Distribution (Distribución)
Sending the document to recipients, systems, or necessary people to share information and reduce sending errors.
Conservation or Archiving (Conservación o archivo)
The process of storing documents in an orderly and safe manner, either physically or digitally, to maintain evidence and comply with legal deadlines.
Producers (Productores)
Organisms capable of manufacturing their own food using air, water, solar energy, and carbon dioxide.
Ley 7202
The law that regulates the National Archive System of Costa Rica and provides instructions on how to organize, classify, and conserve documents.
Disposition (Disposición)
The final destination of a document after its utility is fulfilled, aimed at optimizing space and eliminating information without legal value.
National Archive (Archivo Nacional)
An institution in charge of protecting the country's documentary heritage, including company files, and acting as a guarantor of rights.
Chain of Custody (Cadena de custodia)
Documentation of the movement of files to another location, ensuring the record of their historical value and possession.
