Communication
The process of exchanging information, ideas, thoughts, or feelings between individuals or groups through verbal, non-verbal, or written means.
Importance of Communication
Essential for expressing thoughts, emotions, and ideas; facilitates understanding, building relationships, resolving conflicts; vital in personal, professional, and social interactions; aids efficient decision making.
Types of Communication
Verbal (spoken or written words), Non-verbal (body language, gestures, facial expressions), Visual (images, graphs, charts), Body Language.
Effective Communication
Clear and concise message delivery; active listening and feedback; empathy and understanding of the receiver's perspective.
Sender
The person who initiates the communication process by sending a message.
Message
The information, idea, or emotion that the sender wants to convey to the receiver.
Encoding
The process of converting the message into symbols or language that can be understood by the receiver.
Channel
The medium through which the message is transmitted, such as face-to-face, phone, email, etc.
Receiver
The person who receives and interprets the message sent by the sender.
