TRAPS - trapezius - posterior, triangular muscle on the neck and back

DELTS - deltoid - anterior wraps around to posterior, visible from all angles of view, caps shoulder

PECS - pectoralis major - anterior, big, superficial chest muscle

PECS - pectoralis minor - anterior, smaller, deep chest muscle

LATS - latissimus dorsi

ROTATOR CUFF - supraspinatus - posterior, sits on scapula bone

ROTATOR CUFF - infraspinatus - posterior, sits on scapula bone

ROTATOR CUFF - subscapularis - anterior, sits on scapula bone

teres major - posterior, inferior, big, chunky muscle at bottom of shoulder

teres minor - posterior, superior, right below infraspinatus

anterior, superficial upper arm muscle, looks like two different muscles but comes together in one tendon at the elbow
BICEPS - biceps brachii - anterior, superficial upper arm muscle, looks like two different muscles but comes together in one tendon at the elbow

TRICEPS - triceps brachii - posterior, superficial upper arm muscle

brachioradialis - anterior, superficial, fleshy part of forearm, crosses elbow joint, slacks when elbow flexed

brachialis - anterior, attaches directly to humerus bone

OBLIQUES - external abdominal oblique - anterior, most superficial abdominal muscle, on sides, fibers run like putting hands in pockets

OBLIQUES - internal abdominal oblique - anterior, deep to external oblique, fibers run up and in

ABS/ ABDOMINALS - transverse abdominus - anterior, deepest abdominal muscle, fibers run left to right

ABS/ABDOMINALS - rectus abdominus - anterior, six pack, fibers run straight up and down

intercostals - anterior, in between ribs, fibers run opposite direction, external muscles open lungs, internal close lungs

ERECTOR SPINAE - spinalis - posterior, most medial, right on spine

ERECTOR SPINAE - longissimus - posterior, lateral to spinalis

ERECTOR SPINAE - iliocostalis - posterior, most lateral

serratus anterior - wraps from posterior to anterior, medial border of scapula to side of ribs, grabs ribs like fingers, holds scapula in place

rhomboid - posterior, looks like a geometric rhomboid, medial border of scapula to spine, brings shoulder blades together

iliopsoas - deep, hip flexor, when flexing the hip located in the crease where trunk meets proximal end of femur

sartorius - anterior, superficial, ASIS of hip to tibia, longest muscle in the body, externally rotates the hip

gracilis - medial, groin muscle, long skinny muscle

GLUTES - gluteus maximus - posterior, superficial, big muscle

GLUTES - gluteus medius - smaller than gluteus maximus, more medial

GLUTES - gluteus minimus - deep to gluteus medius

TFL - tensor fasciae latae - fleshy side of hips

IT BAND - iliotibial band

piriformis - posterior, deep to gluteus maximus, alongside gluteus medius

QUADS - rectus femoris - most superficial quad muscle, fibers run up and down

QUADS - vastus lateralis - lateral side of quad, fibers run diagonally

QUADS - vastus medialis - medial side of quad, fibers run diagonally

QUADS - vastus intermedius - quad muscle deep to rectus femoris

HAMSTRINGS - semitendinosus - posterior hamstring, long skinny tendon

HAMSTRINGS - semimembranosus - posterior hamstring, big, more medial

HAMSTRINGS - biceps femoris - posterior hamstring, big, more lateral

CALVES - gastrocnemius - posterior, most superficial calf muscle

CALVES - soleus - posterior, calf muscle deep to gastrocnemius

Achilles tendon - composed of gastrocmius and soleus

tibialis posterior - posterior, "Tom", adjacent to medial malleolus

flexor digitorum longus - posterior, "Dick", next to Tom, runs under the foot

tibialis anterior - anterior tibia, attaches to tendon on top of foot

extensor digitorum longus - anterior, extends all 4 toes

extensor hallicus longus - anterior, bottom of tibia to top of big toe, extends big toe
