What are the two types of homophonic texture?
Chordal and melody and accompaniment.
What is melody and accompaniment?
A main tune is supported by other parts usually playing chords.
What is chordal texture?
Multiple parts play same rhythm but different pitches.
What are three types of monophonic texture?
Single line melody, unison and octaves.
What is single line melody texture?
One tune played with no accompaniment.
What is unison texture?
Multiple instruments playing same pitch at same time.
What is octaves texture?
Multiple parts play same melody at different pitch ranges.
What is polyphonic texture?
Multiple melodies played at the same time.
What is antiphonal/call and response/question and answer?
A musical phrase is played, and a different musical phrase plays after.
What is imitation?
A musical phrase and a different part plays a similar phrase.

Multiple parts added to a piece one by one.
What is round/cannon texture?
A melody that is played again on a different part after a set delay time, the melody usually accompanies itself.

A second time is played at the same time as the first but it is different.
