Cinema
is a high form of art, as it has the potential to convey the greatest range of human ideas and emotions in one entity of art.
Light Design
involves more than spotlighting, like mood lighting that helps set a scene, lighting transitions that help smoothen the going from one scene to the next and coordinating all the light elements
Illumination
The idea is to use light to make sure the camera (and the audience) can clearly see what needs to be seen in any given shot.
Forced perspective

Slug Line
is text in a script written in all capital letters to draw attention to specific information
Script
contains the dialogue of the movie, what the characters will say in what manner, to whom, and when
In-frame
This is when actors can be seen by the camera
Back lights
These lights are placed behind the subject to add a separation between the subject and the background
Key lights
This light is placed in front of the subject and is the brightest light
Fill lights
These lights are placed on the opposite side of the subject to help "fill-in" the shadows.
Set Designers
meticulously research historical periods, explore different architectural styles, and collaborate with artists, prop makers
Storyboard
Is a visual guide to a film, like a comic book, that breaks down the script intro individual frames or panels.
