Sleeper stretch
s/l with bottom arm positioned in 90/90 position, top hand pushes the bottom
arm down into shoulder IR; pt will feel the stretch in the back of their shoulder

S/l posterior capsule stretch
s/l with bottom arm pulled across the body with top arm; pt will feel
the stretch in the back of their shoulder
90/90 Pec stretch in door
pt’s arms positioned like a goal post, forearms on door frame, with
legs staggered, leaning forward into the stretch
Low pec stretch in door
pt’s arms down by their sides, palms on door frame, with legs
staggered, leaning forward into the stretch
Tricep Stretch
arm overhead with the elbow bent behind the head, using opposite arm to pull
the elbow toward the middle of the body
Shoulder Flexion AAROM w/ dowel:
can be performed in supine or standing. Both hands are on
the dowel, with the pt lifting the arms overhead

Shoulder Abduction AAROM w/ dowel:
pt standing with their injured arm side’s hand on the end of a dowel with the uninjured arm side’s hand in the middle of the dowel, pt to push with their uninjured side to lift the injured side into abduction

Shoulder 3 way:
flexion, scaption, & abduction (performed with a band or dumbbell)
abduction —> arms to the side, 90 degrees between the body and shoulder
flexion —> lift up forward to the sky
scaption —> 30-45 degree lift up
Genie:
external rotation @ ancore w/ arms stacked like a genie (top arm is working arm)
S/l ER
pt on their side with the top arm elbow bent at 90 deg with a towel roll between their elbow and side, pt’s hand to be at their belly, keeping elbow at side pt rotates the arm up into external rotation and controls the motion back down to belly

S/l Abd
pt on their side with their top elbow straight at their side, pt lifts the arm up toward their
ear keeping the arm straight

S/l Flexion
pt on their side with their top elbow straight starting at their side, pt lifts the arm
staying in the plane of the shoulder up in front of them

ER walkout
isometric external rotation hold @ ancore while stepping to the side

IR walkout
isometric internal rotation hold @ ancore while stepping to the side

SB CCW/CW circles @ wall in 90 deg flexion/abduction
pt’s arm is straight with the SB between their hand and the wall. Circling motion while pushing into the ball. The arm stays straight and at shoulder height. Can be performed facing toward the ball or to the side of the ball.
ER Serratus press w/ loop band
loop band around each wrist. Pt pushes out into the band to
create tension and then lifts both arms OH while maintaining the tension.

Supported 90/90 ER @ table:
sitting next to the table with the elbow resting slightly below
shoulder height. Pt rotates the arm into ER while keeping the elbow on the table.

90/90 ER with band/cable
pt is standing facing toward the band/cable with elbow at shoulder height in abduction. Pt then pulls the resistance into external rotation to achieve the 90/90 position.
90/90 IR with band/cable:
pt is standing facing away from the band/cable with elbow at shoulder height in abduction. Pt starts in 90/90 position, then pulls the resistance down into internal rotation.
Prone chicken wing
pt on stomach with hand behind their back. Keep the hand still and try to lift the elbow up without rotating trunk up from the table
Prone pass behind the back
pt on stomach while passing a weight back and forth between both hands behind the back. With each rep, the arm comes down off the edge of the table.
HADD
horizontal adduction w/ band: starting with band away from midline and pulling the arm
across midline at shoulder height

HABD
horizontal abduction w/ band: standing band at midline and pulling the arm away from
midline at shoulder height
Sword pull @ cable /band
resistance starts low with pt reaching across the body, then pulls up and out on a diagonal, controlling the way back down
Seatbelt @cable / band
resistance starts high with pt reaching out to the side of the body, then pulls down at a diagonal across the body, controlling on the way back up
Farmer carry
walking with weight in both hands, down at the side
Suitcase carry
walking with weight in one hand, down at the side
Uneven carry
walking with one weight at shoulder height and one weight down at the side
OH/Suitcase carry
walking with one weight overhead and one weight down at the side
Thomas Stretch
pt laying on their back with one knee in towards their chest and the other leg
hanging off the edge of the table; they should feel a stretch in the hip/thigh

Pigeon Stretch
pt puts leg up on table with hip in external rotation, other leg stays standing on

pt on hands and knees with one leg out to the side, rocking forward and backward; should feel stretch in inner thigh (netural spine!) 3 or 4 of 10
Hip 90/90 switches
pt sitting on ground with both knees bent, rotating side to side until the
knees touch the ground; maintaining 90/90 positioning of the hip/knee throughout motion
Hip 90/90 + thrust
switch motion + a hip thrust up to tall kneeling while squeezing the glutes
Hip 90/90 + IR
switch motion + lifting the back leg’s foot off the ground before switching to the
other side
Hip CAR w/ FR @ wall
pt standing with FR between the wall and the inside of the outside knee, pt then lifts the inside leg up and over the FR without dropping the FR
Quadruped hip CAR w/ ½ FR
pt on hands and knees with ½ FR vertical on the ground next to their hip, pt lifts the leg up and over the ½ FR trying to get their foot to tap up by their hand.
S/l hip abduction
pt on their side with bottom leg bent, top leg straight in-line with their upper
body, lifting top leg; should feel it in their side glute
S/l hip adduction
pt on their side with bottom leg straight, top leg is bent and out of the way, lift the bottom leg off the table; should feel it in their inner thigh
Standing abduction w/ superband
standing with superband around their outside ankle, pt to lift
their leg out to the side without shifting their upper body (can also be performed with ancore)
Standing adduction w/ superband
standing with superband around their inside ankle, leg starts out to the side, pt to pull their leg in toward midline, squeezing the inner thigh without shifting their upper body (can also be performed with ancore)
Prone hip extension
laying on stomach, legs straight, lifting one leg at a time; squeezing the
glut and trying not to arch the back (can also be performed on SB, BOSU, or at EOB
Side steps
band around knees/ankles/toes, stepping sideways with feet apart and toes pointed straightforward; cuing pt to keep tension in the band the whole time / don’t turn toes out / don’t tilt their trunk
Duck walks
pt is standing upright with band around knees/ankles, stepping forward with knees staying straight; will look like a waddle; cue pt to avoid tilting at their trunk
Monster walks
pt is standing in a squat with band around knees/ankles, stepping forward
diagonally
Flamingo
Pt standing to the side of the wall with the ½ FR between them and the wall at their mid thigh. Pt picks up their inside leg and pushes thigh into the FR/wall. They should feel it in their outside leg’s glut. Cue them to not tilt their body or drop their hips.
RFESS
rear foot elevated split squat (on bench or box)

Lunge with toe landing
pt steps into a lunge and their front leg lands on the ball of their foot
Superband lunge:
superband is attached to the squat rack at waist height, pt faces the squat rack and backs up so there is tension in the band, they step into the lunge and push themselves back up to standing
Kickstand hip hinge with IR
pt beginning in upright kickstand position, hinging at the hip while simultaneously dropping their kickstand hip to internally rotate the standing leg

Wall squat
squat motion up/down with pt’s head/shoulders/back/hips against the wall

BOSU squat complex
pt stands with black side up and performs 10 squats, 10 squat hold w/ M/L shifts slow, 20 squat hold w/ M/L shifts fast
SB Bridge complex
pt is on their back on a mat with the SB starting at their feet, they perform 10 straight knee bridges, 10 bent knee bridges, 10 bridges while curling in and out
Tall kneel hip thrust
pt starts sitting on their heels, squeezes the gluts and comes up into tall kneeling; cue them to avoid arching through their back

pt sitting on red bench facing toward the ancore, ancore at knee height, leg

on stomach with ankle strap attachment, ancore at lowest setting, pt to pull their heel toward their butt without arch their back/hip
Seated Knee Extension
pt sitting on red bench facing away from the ancore with towel roll under thigh, ancore at lowest height, leg starts bent and they kick they knee out straight
90/90 LAQ isometric
pt sitting EOB with gait belt attached to table and around their ankle, enough tension in it for knee to stay at 90 deg when they kick into it. Nothing should move.
Quad set
pt supine or sitting with towel roll under their knee pressing downwards, cue pt to engage their quad and no other muscles; their heel SHOULD not dig into the table
Prone quad set
pt on stomach with toes on table, cue pt to squeeze their quad to lift the knee off the table, toes stay on table
SB quad set at wall
sitting on edge of chair/box with SB against the wall, one foot in the middle of the ball pushing heel into it while doing a quad set
Quad set w/ strap
long sitting with strap around foot, squeezing the quad + pulling with the
strap to achieve hyperextension; cue pt to only engage their quad
Eccentric leg press
1 leg controls the way down, 2 push back up
High plank:
pt on hands with elbows straight and toes, holding position with hips in line with their
trunk (Modified - lower from the toes to the knees)
Forearm plank
pt on forearms with elbows bent and toes, holding position with hips in line with their trunk (Modified - lower from the toes to the knees)
Side plank
pt on their side, contact with forearm and the outside of the the bottom leg, pushing
up onto the forearm and lifting the hips; shoulders/hips should be stacked (Modified - knees
together and bottom knee is on the mat)
Paloff Press
standing rotated 90 deg from the resistance, band/cable at chest level, pt starts holding the band with both hands at their chest and then pushes out until elbows are straight; cue pt to keep shoulders pointed straight ahead and to contract their core

Paloff Press w/ rotation
start with regular paloff press motion, then rotate the trunk away from the resistance. Return to square shoulder position and then bring the resistance back in toward the chest
deadbug
pt on their back in tabletop, extending opposite arm and leg out without arching their back; cue the pt to engage their core
Bird Dog
pt in quadruped, extending opposite arm and leg out while keeping the back flat and their shoulders engaged
Kneeling DF stretch
pt in ½ kneeling position and shifts weight forward keeping the front foot flat on the ground; should feel stretch in the ankle
DF stretch w/ strap on box
loop is around the ankle joint with foot up on the box, the other foot steps on the strap on the ground to create tension, pt then shifts weight forward; should feel stretching ankle
Gastroc Stretch on slant board
both feet on board with knees straight, leaning into wall
Soleus Stretch on slant board
both feet on board with knees bent, leaning into wall
3D calf stretch
pt has one foot on the blue wedge and shifts weight forward, diagonally outward, and diagonally across the body; should feel stretch in calf muscles
Kneeling PF stretch
pt starts in quadruped and shifts weight back on to heels like a childs pose,
toes are flat on the ground, not tucked under
Kneeling Great toe extension stretch
pt starts in quadruped without shoes and shifts weight back on to heels with their toes tucked underneath
Great toe extension wall stretch
big toe is propped on the wall with pt leaning into it to stretch the toe/bottom of their foot
Ankle 4 way with band
theraband is around the ball of the foot and pt goes into plantarflexion, dorsiflexion, inversion, and eversion against resistance

FFE (front foot extension) SL (single leg) HR (heel raise)
one foot is elevated on a box with the heel floating (for balance), then the pt
performs a heel raise with the foot on the ground, the knee remains straight
FFE SL SR (soleus raise (heel raise with knee bent, raise entire body)
one foot is elevated on a box with the heel floating (for balance), then the pt performs a heel raise with the foot on the ground, the knee remains bent; be sure their whole body is moving and not just their ankle
Short foot
TB (theraband) under the big toe to keep foot flat with an exercise (could be SLS, RDL, etc)
