Plant Cell Organelles
Cell Membrane, Cell Wall, Chloroplasts, Cytoplasm, Mitochondria, Nucleus, Permanent Vacuole, Ribosomes
Cytoplasm
A jelly-like substance containing dissolved nutrients and organelles, where most chemical reactions happen.
Cell Membrane
Controls the movement of substances in and out of the cell
Ribosomes
structures in the cytoplasm where protein synthesis occurs
Nucleus
Contains genetic material and controls activities in the cell
Mitochondria
Contains enzymes for respiration, most energy is released here.
Chloroplasts
Contains chlorophyll and enzymes for photosynthesis
Permanent Vacuole
contains cell sap to keep the cell turgid
Cell wall
Made from cellulose fibres and strengthens the cell and supports the plant
