A point i often encounter when discussing heavy themes in writing is their improper handling. As with anything else, i believe there's a space of ways to approach said themes that work more or less whether they're appropriate to their respective medium, and that fact behaves more like a value, a spectrum rather than something as complex as a 3d or, well, 2d space: at one end sits "blunt insensitivity" to the topic at hand, causing a dissonance through either attempts to lighten the subject, conflicting tone settings or a lack of understanding; at the other end sits its opposite, a fear of discussing these themes that may show itself with attempts to make the subject irrelevant, little to no or extreme impact on certain characters or other elements such as locations or otherwise a certain disinterest on shining light onto the given topic.
