Why and when did China's Qing Dynasty decline and ultimatley collapse?

Internal changes and pressure from outside society is what caused the Qing Dynasty to collapse. The republic of China is announced. It is still very traditional, because its a Confucian society.

What was the Opium War?

The British v. Chinese. Britain beat China, the war started because the Chinese limited trade with the British. The war ends in a peace treaty, with this treaty, Britain gets more trading ports in China and they get the island of Hong Kong. British Citizens also get the privilege of being tried with British Law, rather than Chinese law.

It was an unrest from politics, it led to a weakening of the Chinese Dynasty, Russia wanted to be involved in China.
