Get a closefitting bag with a high fill ratio down or synthetic but it is not as good but cheaper

Simple meals that only require one pot, light and have many calories; Instant and freeze dried food has less calories than quick meals. If food takes a long time it may take more fuel

Add a spoonful of butter cream cheese or peanut butter

Constant snacks are good for lunch to keep your energy fire remained stoked

  • Respect for all living things; don’t approach or feed wildlife, properly store food and leaves pets at home

  • Pack it in, pack it out: no litter of ANYTHING

  • Stick to durable surfaces: keep in mind fragile vegetation, stay on the trail. Don’t walk single file in serene environments.

  • Take only photos, leave only foot prints. Everything is a part of the natural environment.

  • Be fire wise: be careful with fires as they can be damaging and risky. Build low impact fires
