PET Study
A brain imaging method designed to detect dopamineergic activity in the brain.
Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS)
Method used to examine biologically active substances in the brain, such as GABA and glutamate.
fMRI
Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging measures blood oxygen level dependent signals to assess brain activity.
Neurotransmitters
Chemical substances like dopamine that transmit signals in the brain.
Voxel
A three-dimensional pixel; a unit of measurement in brain imaging representing a volume of space.
Graph Theory
A mathematical framework used to study the connectivity and relationships between different areas of the brain.
Resting State Connectivity
The connectivity of brain regions when a subject is not actively engaged in a task.
Event Related Potential (ERP)
Brain response measured through EEG that is direct result of a specific sensory event.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
A non-invasive method to stimulate neurons in the brain using magnetic fields.
Functional Near Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS)
An imaging technique that uses near-infrared light to assess brain activity through blood flow.
