Retro-reflector
Retro reflectors reflect light back toward its source, making the vehicle more visible to other road users.
Passenger car requirements: unladen weight
Vehicle weight as delivered by the manufacturer (including tools and spare wheel, minus 100 kg)
Passenger car requirements: Load Carrier
Load carriers must be mounted on a bumper, tow bar, roof, or integrated into the rear of the vehicle; fitted to the front or rear of a trailer; or mounted on the side of a light commercial vehicle.
Exhaust System Requirements
Must be gas-tight across the entire length, with the exception of the drainage holes, properly attached, comply with the noise requirements in the vehicle register with an excess of two decibels, and must not emit more CO than prescribed.
The Speedometer
The Speedometer shows the speed at which you're driving. The speedometer is required to be functioning legally, and must be clearly legible in darkness.
The odometer
Shows how many kilometres the vehicle has travelled in total.
Major tread grooves
Wide grooves in the middle section of a tyres tread that contain the wear indicators.
Tread
Part of the tyre that comes into contact with the road surface
Carcass
Part of the tyre under the rubber layer that gives the tyre its strength.
Wear indicators
Elevations in the main grooves. When these wear with the tread, the tyre no longer meets the minimum tread depth.
Tyres
Must be air / nitrogen filled, must not have any bulges or any damage where the carcass is visible, and tyres must have a minimum tread depth of 1.6 mm in the major tread grooves. Must have a spare tyre, and be able to change a tyre yourself.
Braking device
Must be properly secured, rust-free, show no signs of leakage, show no signs of excessive wear.

Distance requirements for towing a vehicle
The distance between the two vehicles should not exceed 5 metres.
If the lighting of the passenger car is obscured by the load carrier, the following lighting must be present on the load carrier:
two red rear lights, two red brake lights, two red-retro reflectors and two amber indicators
If the load carrier is mounted on the tow bar or on the front of the trailer, it must meet the following requirements:

Marker lighting
Lighting on the outermost corners of a vehicle that indicate the size of the vehicle (end-outline marker lights)
Cornering Lighting (White)
Lighting function on the front for better illumination when turning.
Daytime running light (white)
Forward facing light used to make the vehicle more visible to oncoming traffic during the day. May only be used if dipped headlights are not mandatory.
Front fog light (white or yellow)
Light that serves to provide better illumination of the road in fog or similar conditions with reduced visibility.
Parking light (front white, rear red)
Light intended to indicate the presence of a parked vehicle. Usually this is the same lighting as the sidelight.
Additional marker lighting and reflectors
Vehicles wider than 2.10 metres must have two white at the front and two red marker lights at the rear. Vehicles longer than 6 metres must be fitted with amber-coloured side marker lights and amber-coloured retro-reflectors on the side.
