What is Le Chatelier’s principle?
If a system is in dynamic equilibrium it is subjected to change (conc. Temp. pressure) the position of EQM shifts as to minimise this change and restore EQM
What happens in an endothermic reaction due to an increase in temperature?
Position of EQM shifts to RHS - Favours forward reaction so more product and Kp increases
What happens in an exothermic reaction due to an increase in temperature?
Position of EQM shifts to LHS - Favours backward reaction so less product and Kp decreases
What is the impact of catalysts?
No effect on EQM position - They speed up rate EQM is attained
