fluctus. O quid agis? Fortiter occupa 
     portum. Nonne vides ut 
     nudum remigio latus, 

O ship, new waves will carry you back into the sea.  What are you doing?  Bravely make for the port.  Surely you see how your side is stripped of oars

et malus celeri saucius Africo               5 
antemnaque gemant ac sine funibus 
     vix durare carinae 
     possint imperiosius 

And how the mast, wounded by the swift African wind, groans, and bare of rigging, can scarcely bear the too-commanding sea 

aequor? Non tibi sunt integra lintea, 
non di, quos iterum pressa voces malo.               10 
     Quamvis Pontica pinus, 
     silvae filia nobilis, 

There is not a sail intact for you, no gods to call upon, again you are beset by danger. though you're built of Pontic pine, a child of those famous forests 

iactes et genus et nomen inutile: 
nil pictis timidus navita puppibus 
     fidit. Tu, nisi ventis               15 
     debes ludibrium, cave. 

You may boast in vain of both your lineage and your name: the frightened sailor places no confidence in painted sterns.   You, beware, unless you owe mockery to the winds.

You, who recently to me were an anxious weariness, are now an object of passion and a not-insubstantial care, avoid the seas which are poured between the shining Cyclades.
