Sexuality
Encompasses sexual orientation, encompassing heterosexuality, homosexuality (gay/lesbian), bisexuality, pansexuality, and asexuality.
Gender Identity
An individual's internal sense of being male, female, both, or neither, influencing terms like cisgender, transgender, gender dysphoria, gender expression, genderfluid, genderqueer, and nonbinary.
LGBTQIA2+
An inclusive acronym representing Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and Two-Spirit individuals.
Intersex
Refers to variations in sexual biology that do not fit typical definitions of male or female.
Cisgender
Individuals whose gender identity aligns with their sex assigned at birth.
Gender Dysphoria
Distress experienced when a person's gender identity does not match their sex assigned at birth.
Gender Expression
How an individual outwardly presents their gender, through clothing, behavior, etc.
Genderfluid
Individuals whose gender identity varies over time.
Genderqueer
Individuals whose gender identity falls outside of the traditional male/female binary.
Nonbinary
Umbrella term for gender identities that are not exclusively male or female.
Transgender
Individuals whose gender identity differs from the sex they were assigned at birth.
Sexual Dysfunctions
Difficulties experienced during sexual activity, categorized by natal sex (male or female), including delayed ejaculation, erectile disorder, female orgasmic disorder, etc.
Paraphilias
Intense sexual interests outside of the norm. Some examples are Exhibitionistic disorder, Fetishistic disorder, Frotteuristic disorder, Pedophilic disorder, Sexual sadism disorder, Sexual masochism disorder, Transvestic disorder and Voyeuristic disorder.
