first 3 writing conventions

use 12-point, Times New Roman font; indent your paragraphs( einrücken ); double-space your text

second 3 writing conventions

put articles in quotation marks; Italicize titles of books, journals, newspapers, websites, ( do not do that for articles, chapters, songs, webpages/videos; Cite your sources by following MLA/APA guidelines

third 3 conventions

Follow deductive pattern of organization. Your thesis statement, or main argument, should be in your essay's introduction; keep sentences of a paragraph together (no single sentence paragraphs); avoid refering to first and secound person pronouns ( I, you, we, us )

4th 2 conventions

avoid rethorical questions; avoid contractions
