3 Types of Angiotensin
All three compounds are small polypeptides…
1.) Angiotensin I → weak biologic activity; precursor of angiotensin II
2.) Angiotensin II → strong biologic activity; precursor to angiotensin III
3.) Angiotensin III → moderate biologic activity; formed by degradation of angiotensin III
Angiotensin II
Precursor to angiotensin III with strong activity; promotes vasoconstriction and aldosterone release; may cause hypertrophy and remodeling of the heart
Angiotensin III
Aldosterone
