Fluid

any matter which has no fixed shape, can flow, and take the shape of its container (any substance in a gas or liquid state)

Viscosity

a liquids’s internal resistance or friction that keeps it from flowing

Density

mass per unit of volume (the number of particles in a given volume)

measured by dividing the mass of a substance by it’s volume

Weight

measure of the force of gravity on an object

Mass

measurement of the amount of matter that is in an object

Volume

the amount of space taken up by and object

Bubble Test

test to determine the viscosity of a liquid

a measurement of how long it takes an air bubble to rise through a tube of fluid

Ramp Method

method to determine the viscosity of a liquid

measures how long it takes for a fluid to flow down a ramp

Particle Theory of Matter

theory that explains the movement of all solids, liquids, and gases

it states that all matter is made up of time moving particles that attract each other and have spaces between them
