Compact Bone
Dense outer layer of bone that provides strength, protection, and support with tightly packed osteons.
Spongy Bones
Lightweight, porous bone tissue that supports bone marrow and absorbs stress, found at the ends of long bones and inside other bones.
Non-synovial joints
very little movement, bones linked via fibrous connective tissue or cartilage
synovial joints
mobile joints, enclosed by joint capsule and contain fluid
wolff’s law
bone adapts to the stress placed upon it

Male or female? Why?
Female

Male or female? Why?
Male
The rounded end part of a long bone, where it connects to other bones to form joints. It contains spongy bone and is often involved in growth during childhood through the epiphyseal (growth) plate.
Epiphysis
The long, cylindrical shaft of a long bone, made of compact bone tissue, which provides strength and supports the bone's structure.
Diaphysis
A layer of cartilage found near the ends of long bones in children and teens. It allows bones to grow longer and hardens into solid bone in adulthood.
Ephyseal plate (growth plate)
