Vocal nodules
small nodes that develop on the superficial laryer of the lamina propria, typically occurring as bilateral and in the middle 2/3rds of the folds
Polyps
Fluid filled masses that originate in the middle 1/3rd of the superficial lamina propria, typically occurring as unilateral
Cysts
A benign, unilateral, mucus filled growth
Granuloma
Inflammatory, firm, lesion composed of granular tissue that typically grow on the vocal process of the arytenoid cartilages
Contact ulcers
Sores or crater- like areas of ulcerated tissue that typically develop bilaterally along the posterior 1/3 of the glottal margin
Vocal fold thickening
vocal folds slowly thicken along the anterior 2/3rds of the glottal margin due to vocal abuse
Reinke’s edema
built up fluid in the superficial lamina propria of both vocal folds, causing excessive swelling
laryngomalacia
a congenital condition causing soft laryngeal cartilages, particularly the epiglottis
