awe
respect and fear and wonder, like the vastness of space and the mysteries of the ocean

euthanasia types
voluntary - request to die, so the doctors administer normally a lethal injection. nonvoluntary - unable to request to die, but you are killed regardless as this is what was assumed would be wanted (eg in a coma/vegetative state). 'involuntary' - able to give consent, but doesn't and is killed anyway. 'examples' include death penalty (legalised murder) and murder (what). active - killing someone in a way where they would not otherwise have died from it (eg shooting a mortally wounded soldier, administering a lethal injection, making someone overdose on drugs) and passive - removing life prolonging treatment eg turning off a life support machine
religious views on euthanasia
generally disliked - god chooses if we live or die, sanctity of life arguments etc. stricter in islam than christianity
abortion
removal of a foetus from a woman's body, normally within a few weeks of forming
religious views on abortion
generally disliked - foetus humanised, sanctity of life, stating life starts at conception etc.
euthanasia
mercy killing - giving an entity a 'good death'. widely accepted in the case of animals but heavily debated in humans.
life after death in christianity
heaven/hell - as either w/ or w/out god or as literal eternal paradise/suffering. judgement through God.
life after death in islam
heaven/hell as literal eternal suffering/paradise. judgement through god through book of life.
creation beliefs
christianity: god made the world in 6 days (or time periods). fundamentalist/liberal split
islam: god made the world in 6 time periods
science: big bang theory, evolution etc
animals
islam: only halal meat is accepted. animal testing is only allowed if the subjects do not suffer
christianity: minimise suffering but no regulations either way
atheism: no regulations whatsoever, though general belief of suffering = bad
