Tampa’s Team, LLC
A Florida limited liability company doing business as Buddy Brew Coffee.
Brew Good Do Good ®
The mission and motto that drives business operations, from sourcing beans to building the team and giving back.
Employment-At-Will
A policy stating that either the employee or Buddy Brew Coffee may terminate employment at any time, for any reason, with or without cause or notice.
The Management Team
Consists of Store Managers, Directors of Operations, and Officers (David and Susan Ward).
90-day probationary period
The first 90 days of employment during which work performance is regularly assessed to determine if continued employment will be granted.
Kinship Kindness
The internal value derived from the People category, defined as treating the family of employees, customers, and suppliers with kindness.
Equal Employment Opportunity Policy
A policy providing equal opportunities regardless of race, religion, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, or other characteristics protected under Applicable Law.
Reasonable Accommodation
Steps taken to assist employees with disabilities or religious observances, provided they do not cause undue hardship on business operations.
Relative (Nepotism Policy)
Includes spouse, domestic partner, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, grandchild, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, cousin, guardian, ward, in-laws, household members, or a fiancé.
Company Property
Included items like lockers, phones, computers, tablets, desks, workplace areas, and company email or voicemail, which are subject to inspection at any time.
Sexual Harassment
Unwelcome sexual advances or conduct based on sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status that interferes with work performance or creates a hostile environment.
Food Safety Plan
A set of requirements including wearing a hat or hairnet, regular hand washing, wearing closed-toed shoes, hanging mops, and no dumping in hand sinks.
Substance Abuse in the Workplace Policy
A zero-tolerance policy prohibiting the use, possession, or influence of alcohol, illegal drugs (including marijuana), or unauthorized prescription drugs while on duty.
Promotion
A change to a position classified at a higher-grade level, requiring completion of the 90-day probationary period and preferably one year of prior service.
Exit Interview
A meeting at the conclusion of employment to identify trends, return Company Property, and review confidentiality covenants.
Full-time employee
An employee expected to carry a work commitment of at least 30 hours a week.
Abandonment of employment
A voluntary termination that occurs if an employee fails to call their supervisor or report for work for 3 consecutive workdays.
Tip Share Policy
Compensation allocated after training is completed, which is forfeited if a team member is involuntarily terminated or resigns without a written 2 weeks' notice.
Paid Time Off (PTO)
Paid leave for vacation or personal time, accruing for Retail hourly employees working 30+ hours per week after their 90-day probationary period.
Sick Day Credits
Accrued but unused PTO that may be used for additional sick leave after the initial 5 paid sick leave days are exhausted.
USERRA
The Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, which provides military service leaves of absence and reemployment rights.
Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
Provides up to 12 or 26 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave to eligible employees who have worked 1,250 hours over the preceding 12 months.
Confidential Information
Trade secrets, proprietary information, recipes, manufacturing processes, and sourcing data that must not be shared outside the company.
Works Made for Hire
Legal designation for any work product, inventions, or designs created by an employee while employed at Buddy Brew Coffee, making the company the sole owner.
Customer Comps
Complimentary products given to customers, which require preauthorization by an Officer, the Director of Retail Operations, or the Management Team.
