Plumbing

The art and technique of installing and maintaining a plumbing system for water supply and drainage.

Plumbing Fixture

An approved-type installed receptacle, device or appliance that receives water or discharges waste into a plumbing system.

Plumbing Appliance

A special class of plumbing device or equipment, usually mechanically operated, such as a dishwasher or water softener.

Plumbing Appurtenance

A manufactured device or prefabricated assembly—other than a fixture—that is part of a plumbing system (e.g., backflow preventer).

Plumbing System

The potable water supply, sanitary drainage, and storm-drainage piping within or adjacent to a building.

Administrative Authority

The office or agency that administers and enforces the National Plumbing Code of the Philippines (NPCP).

Plumbing Official

The individual designated by the Administrative Authority to interpret and enforce the NPCP.

Master Plumber

A Registered and Licensed Master Plumber (RLMP) authorized to plan, supervise and sign plumbing work.
