Revised National Plumbing Code of the Philippines
The official code governing plumbing practices in the Philippines as presented by Arch. Lorenzo Ray Naz Tanael.
Registered and Licensed Master Plumber
The professional to whom plumbing permits are issued and who is authorized to prepare, sign, and seal plumbing plans and documents without limitations.
Permit Issuance
Official permits must be secured from the Office of the Building Official (OBO).
Application Requirements
Includes the scope of work, vicinity map, computations, technical specifications, drawings, diagrams, and signatures from the owner and a registered master plumber.
Republic Act 1378
The law also known as the "Plumbing Law" that governs the practice of plumbing in the Philippines.
Submission Quantity
Plumbing plans, design analysis, and other documents must be submitted in 6 sets with each application for a permit.
Administrative Authority (OBO) Retention
The number of sets of plans retained by the Administrative Authority, which is 1 set.
Owner Plan Retention
The owner retains 2 sets of the plumbing plans, with 1 set required to be kept at the jobsite.
Permit Validity (Non-commencement)
A plumbing permit becomes invalid if the work authorized has not commenced within 1 year.
Permit Validity (Suspension/Abandonment)
A permit expires if the plumbing work is suspended or abandoned for a period of 120 days.
Inspection Approval Requirement
No portion of any plumbing system shall be concealed until it has been inspected and approved.
Plumbing Inspector Qualification
All Administrative Plumbing Personnel shall be a Registered and Licensed Master Plumber in accordance with Republic Act 1378.
Inspection Request
A request for inspection must be made at least 3 working days before the intended inspection date.
