New cards

Adjustable wrenches

Adjustable wrenches

are helpful
because they can do the work of
several different wrenches. They are
used on pipes, screws, nuts, and bolts.

8
New cards

Box end wrench

Box end wrench

have an enclosed opening
to grip the face of a bolt or nut. They can be
used in narrow spaces or on long studs.
Figure 2-3, a ratchet-type box wrench, is a
specific type of box-end wrench

9
New cards

Cordless drill

Cordless drill

used to access equipment in HVAC systems

10
New cards

Claw Hammer

are hand tools used in carpentry and electrical work and can easily reach into tight areas

11
New cards

Nut drivers

Nut drivers

can tighten and loosen hex headed screwdrivers screws, bolts, and nuts

12
New cards

Hex Keys

Hex Keys

are used to tighten and loosen fastners, sockets, bolts, and set screws. They are designed to do not slip and strip a socket.

13
New cards

Pump pliers

Pump pliers

are adjustable and made to grip and turn rigid pipe fittings

14
New cards

Linesman Pliers

Linesman Pliers

are used to grip, bend, twist, and cut electrical wire and cable.

15
New cards

Wire Strippers

Wire Strippers

are used to cut the plastic coating around the wire without cutting the wire core

16
New cards

Aviation snips

Aviation snips

are used to cut sheet metal when installing or repairing duct work

17
New cards

Tubing benders

are used to cleanly bend tubes made from soft copper so that they can fit around the corners.

18
New cards

Deburring tools

Deburring tools

used to remove any rough edges inside the tubing

19
New cards

Swagging tool

Swagging tool

used one bell one end of soft copper tubing so that can be joined another section of tubing

24
New cards

Carbon dioxide

is used to fight electrical fires because it does not conduct electricity. Also least likely to damage equipment

25
New cards

Material Safety Data Sheet

for each chemical to obtain information on proper use, safety precuations, personal protective equipment, and emergency procedures

Ladder Safety

Ladder Safety

All portable ladders must have nonslip bases . Rubber feet safety so that they are flat on the ground from slipping. Set ladders set up firm level surface. Use mud sill on soft soil. If one leg sink into soft ground, the ladder can fall sideway. Make sure the base of the ladder is at distance from the wall equal to ยผ of working height of ladder. Working height of ladder is 16 ft the base should be 4 feet away from the wall.

27
New cards

grounded

mean the one conductor of the circuit is connected to the ground
