Moving in the direction that the hands on a clock move.
Anticlockwise
Moving in the opposite direction that the hands on a clock move.
Pivot
The point around which a lever turns.
Extension
How much longer an object gets.
Lever
Simple machine that has a bar that turns around a fixed pivot.
Machine
A device that changes the size of a force or the direction in which it acts.
Work done
The energy transferred when a force moves an object.
Joules
Measurement for energy/work done.
Elastic
An object will return to its original shape and size after being stretched or squashed.
Elastic limit
The point at which an elastic object will no longer return to its orientalist shape and size as too much force has been applied.
Spring constant
A number for a spring telling us the size of its extension per unit of force applied.
Deformation
When an object is changed in shape or size due to a force being applied.
Proportional
A relationship when one variable increases by a set amount, and another variable increases by the same value.
Repeatable
Results are repeated by the same group and the same or similar data is obtained.
Reproducible
When a different group does the same experiment and get the same data or conclusion.
Independent variable
The variable that is changed un an experiment.
Dependent variable
The variable that is measured in an experiment.
Control variable
The variable that is kept the same in an experiment.
