2) understand what we are trying to accomplish and are committed to helping us do it

1) safety: we never allow anything to happen that violates the safety of the campers

2) relationships: we want them to have a relationship with each other and with us so we can help them have a deeper relationship with God

3) program: work hard to make camp be the “place to be”

4) efficiency: take a sense of ownership for the camp and take care of everything we own (being wise in utilizing the resources God has provided us)

what is the definition of negligence?

what do you do when you see something dangerous?

1) stop the activity or remove the campers from the situation

2) report the activity or situation to the proper authority at camp

where/what are the 4 most dangerous places/things at camp?

1) the parking lot and the road

2) allergies

3) the inflatables (literally potential death traps)

4) anywhere campers are not with their counselors

when are the only times a camper may be allowed out of your sight?

1) when they are in the restroom

2) when they have been entrusted into the care of another staff member

3) when their parents come in to sign them out

1) never allow abuse to occur

2) never do anything that could be misunderstood by others to be abuse

1) report the suspected abuse to the Camp Director

2) do not interview the child regarding the suspected abuse (specific questions)

4) all information regarding the child will remain confidential and authorities may questions you later

Joey (Curry in the handbook) was in the dunk tank and when he went under, he mooned everyone. When they were trying to find a way to discipline him, his mom told them that last summer she divorced Joey's dad and that this summer she found out that she has terminal cancer and would not have long to live. The mindset changed from Joey being a bad kid to a hurting kid.
