Visual communication is designed for a purpose; these include to advertise, depict, guide, identify, inform, promote and teach.

Drawing the observed objects within an environment assists in recognising its form, relationships, scale and proportion. The representation of light, shadows and tone is important to include in an observational drawing. (This type of drawing MUST be drawn from an object in real life, and NOT drawn from a picture of the object.)

Three-dimensional drawings
Drawing methods that can accurately represent three-dimensional forms. There are two types: Paraline and Perspective.

Shows us what an object looks like or what an object might look like once it has been made. They use a system of parallel lines that never converge. (Isometric and planometric)

A method of drawing objects close to how we see them in real life. Communicates the form of an object and the environment it is found in. (One and two-point perspective)

A paraline drawing where the height is shown by the corner that faces you with the width and depth of the object recede at a 30 degree angle. Allows you to show details and proportions of an object.
