Slip (Fall)
To slide a short distance by accident so that you fall or nearly fall.
“As I ran up the stairs, my foot slipped and I fell.”
Slip (go)
To go somewhere quickly and quietly, especially without being noticed.
“Nancy slipped out of the house before the others were awake.”
Slip (become worse)
To fall to a lower level; to become worse.
“His popularity has slipped recently.”
Sort (kind)
A group or type of people or things that are similar in a particular way.
“'What sort of music do you like?
Oh, all sorts.”
Spell
To say or write the letters of a word in the correct order.
“How do you spell your surname?”
Spell (replace)
To replace for a short time somebody who is doing a particular activity so that they can rest.
“Carter will be here in an hour to spell you.”
Spell (period)
A short period of time during which something lasts.
“We had a spell of warm weather in April.”

Words that are thought to have magic power.
“The wizard cast a spell on them.”
Stick (attach)
To fix something to something else, usually with a sticky substance.
“We used glue to stick the broken pieces together.”
Stick (become fixed)
To become fixed in one position and impossible to move.
“The key has stuck in the lock.”
Stick (push in)
To push something, usually a sharp object, into something.
“The nurse stuck the needle into my arm.”
