Lost his drive in between the next olympics and decided to retire after 20 years of doing the sport at a high level

At the moment it felt good → weight off his shoulders

But eventually feel ,like you've passed ur peak and lost drive even as a young man

His key advice for post athletic careers:

Best things to do is to do something - get a job, do things, get experience , find something that motivates you

- make many goals and hobbies

- Preparation & planning → don’t wait until retirement

- Develop identity outside sport → hobbies, career

- Set new goals → maintain motivation

- Make meaning of sport experience → transferable skills

- Normalize the transition → it’s a process, not instant have mamy priotities

- have awareness of wht you loved and waht ur happy to lose
