Holocaust
The Nazi's systematic approach to eliminate Jews in Europe during WWII.

Aryan Supremacy
The belief that a "pure" blood German with blonde-hair and blue eyes was superior to all other races.

Democracy
a type of government which people vote for leaders and people have rights (freedom of speech, freedom of religion...)

Nazi
A German member of Adolf Hitler's political party :National Socialist German Workers' Party

Fascism
A political party where the leader is a dictator and has total control over citizens. The people have no freedom.

Totalitarian
A type of government that controls most parts of people’s lives, and the people cannot complain.

Communism
An economic and social system in which most or all property is owned by the state (gov.) as a whole and is shared by all.

Dictator
A leader who completely rules a country, they are usually cruel.

Appeasement
Accepting demands in order to avoid conflicts.

Lend-Lease Policy
The law passed during World War II that allowed the United States to sell, lend, or lease war supplies to nations that would defend the United States.

Anti-Semitism
Discrimination against people of Jewish faith that often leads to acts of violence.

Blitzkrieg
A military attack that is swift and fierce. Also known as “lighting war”

Theatre of War
a specific geographical area within which armed conflict occurs. The region where fighting takes place.

Island Hopping
American fighting strategy in the Pacific Theater of War to advance against Japan.

Winston Churchill
Prime Minister of Great Britain during WWII

Adolf Hitler
German Nazi dictator during World War II (1889-1945)

Joseph Stalin
WWII Communist dictator of the Soviet Union (Russia)

Hideki Tojo
Dictator of Japan during WWII

Benito Mussolini
Italian leader. He started the Italian Fascist Party.

Franklin D. Roosevelt
He pushed for economic support of the Allies with the Lend-Lease Act, and he also died in office (U.S. President).

Harry Truman
Became U.S. President after the current/sitting president (FDR) died . Chose to drop the atomic bombs on Japan to end the war.
