Bowlby’s theory leads to women’s rights to maternity leave, improving children’s lives, but this had a greater negative impact on the economy as increased taxation and removed women from the workforce

well publicised research findings can attract overseas investors that fund research to be conducted in the UK, means more jobs for psychologists creating economic investment
How does psychological research lead to increased productivity? (3)
research can help people to return to work after mental illness, so they are more productive and pay more in taxation so require less government benefits, also shows need to fulfil jobs for people trained to be therapists
How does psychological research lead to decreased productivity? (3)
research may recommend behaviours that lower productivity, for an individual’s mental health, shows jobs that are not effective
