Alternate exterior angles
Angles located on the outside of the lines cut through by the transversal on opposing sides.
Alternate interior angles
Angles located on the inside of the lines cut through by the transversal on opposing sides.
Consecutive interior angles
Angles located on the inside of the lines cut through by the transversal on the same side.
Corresponding angles
Angles that occupy the same relative position at each intersection where the transversal crosses.
Equidistant
The distance between two lines measured along a perpendicular line that is always the same.
Parallel lines
Coplanar lines that never intersect.
Parallel planes
Planes that never intersect.
Point-slope form
The equation of a line in the form y-y1 = m(x - x1).
Slope-intercept form
The equation of a line in the form y = mx + b.
Rate of change
Describes how a quantity is changing over time.
Skew lines
Lines that do not intersect and are not coplanar.
Slope
The measure of how steep a line is; rise/run.
Slope formula
The formula to calculate slope:(y2-y1)/(x2-x1).
Transversal
A line that intersects two or more lines in a plane at different points.
