Equinox
DEFINITION
There are only two times of the year when the Earth's axis is tilted neither toward nor away from the sun, resulting in a "nearly" equal amount of daylight and darkness at all latitudes. This is called Fall (Autumn) and Spring (Vernal).

Northern Hemisphere
the half of the earth north of the equator

Southern Hemisphere
the half of the Earth south of the equator

Equator
an imaginary line drawn around the earth equally distant from both poles, dividing the earth into northern and southern hemispheres and constituting the parallel of latitude 0°.

Earth's axis
point earth spins on and when this changes so do the seasons (Is tilted at 23.5 degrees)- this is one cause of the seasons

Rotation of the Earth
causes day and night; takes 24 hours

Revolution of Earth
Earth travels around the Sun in its orbit once every 365.25 days- this is one cause of the seasons
