Second Amendment

Protects against unreasonable searches and seizures.

Fifth Amendment

Provides for due process, prohibits self-incrimination and double jeopardy.

Guarantees the right to a fair and speedy trial.

Seventh Amendment

Provides for the right to trial by jury in civil cases.

Eighth Amendment

Prohibits excessive bail, fines, and cruel and unusual punishment.

Ninth Amendment

Affirms that the rights not enumerated in the Constitution are retained by the people.

Tenth Amendment

Reserves powers not delegated to the federal government to the states or the people.

Thirteenth Amendment

Abolishes slavery and involuntary servitude.

Fourteenth Amendment

Grants citizenship to all persons born or naturalized in the U.S., and guarantees equal protection under the law.

Fifteenth Amendment

Prohibits denying the right to vote based on race, color, or previous condition of servitude.

Sixteenth Amendment

Allows Congress to levy income taxes.

Seventeenth Amendment

Establishes the direct election of U.S. Senators.

Eighteenth Amendment

Prohibits the manufacture and sale of alcoholic beverages (repealed by 21st Amendment).

Nineteenth Amendment

Grants women the right to vote.

Twenty-first Amendment

Repeals the Eighteenth Amendment, legalizing alcohol.

Twenty-second Amendment

Limits the president to two terms in office.

Twenty-fourth Amendment

Prohibits poll taxes in federal elections.
