What is a scalar quantity?
no direction just size.
distance is a scalar quantity.
what is a vector quantity?
Size and direction.
Displacement is a vector quantity.
DEPTH formula
s x t /2
distance
total measurement covered
measured in km/m/ ect so it is a scalar quantity
displacement
how far it is from the start
measured in size and direction (vector quantity)
What is speed?
A measure of how quickly something moves.
no direction so it is a scalar quantity.
formula= d/t
What is velocity?
A measure of how much displacement changes with time.
Vector quantity so it has size and direction
formula= displacement final - displacement initial over time
speed and velocity conversions

What is Sonar?
Sound Navigation and Ranging
What is acceleration?
The rate of change in velocity
Unless an object has a constant velocity, it is accelerating.
Vector Quantity- size and direction.
formula= v f - v i / t
Motion graphs
displacement time graph area under= total distance
slope= velocity/speed.
Velocity graphs
area of 1 2 3 under= area pythag and the gradient is the acceleration.
Vector scales
A+B= pythag always start with a
A-B reverse it si a stays same but make be the oposite direction eg b=11 km East b is now 11 km West then calculate pythag think like -B only applies
Comparing graphs
